Alistair Overeem is now in an exclusive negotiating period with the UFC after completing his contract at UFC on Fox 17, and we have at least a basic idea of his starting point with the Florida State Boxing Commission releasing disclosed payroll figures for the event this week.
Overeem topped the night’s earnings in Orlando for his TKO win over Junior dos Santos, taking home just over $542K. That accounted for more than a fourth of the night’s payouts, as the total payroll for the event was $1,994,857. Add in dos Santos’ $400,000 payout in the loss and the $300,000 that went the way of UFC Lightweight Champ Rafael dos Anjos, and those three men combined for 62% of the night’s earnings.
