Conor McGregor is following Ronda Rousey to Hollywood.
According to a report from TMZ Sports, McGregor has agreed to a role in a sequel to Vin Diesel’s “XXX.” That followed a post from Diesel himself on Instagram hinting at McGregor’s casting following the new UFC Champ’s 13-second KO over Jose Aldo at UFC 194.
McGregor becomes the latest star fighter to make give acting a try, with Rousey becoming one of the most proficient before him.
Penick’s Analysis: It’s not a surprising development. He’s a charismatic fighter with tons of star power, and if he’s got some acting ability that could translate to further work in film. It could be a simple bit part, especially in his first role, and similar to Rousey’s work in Furious 7, which also featured Diesel. Who knows how well he’ll fare, but it’s a natural progression for someone with his exposure.
