PFL: McKee vs. Isbulaev and UFC Fight Night: Fiziev vs. Torres were this past weekend and featured a lot of exciting fights and a terrible display of cheating and referee incompetence. Who won and who lost? Let’s get to the rundown.

PFL: McKee vs. Isbulaev
GOOD- Rob Wilkinson stops Abraham Bably
They start tentatively before some big power strikes are thrown. Both men are slinging heavy leather before they start clinching for a long time. Bably gets a takedown but Wilkinson scrambles up before the first round ends. The second round begins with Wilkinson staggering Bably with some power strikes.Bably shoots in for a takedown but Wilkinson hammers him with elbows and pushes him to the mat. Wilkinson starts dropping punches over and over until the referee is forced to jump in to stop the fight nearly three and a half minutes into the second round.
Wilkinson improves to 20-5 with 1 No Contest and snaps his 3 fight losing streak while Bably drops to 8-3 and has his 3 fight winning streak snapped. Good win for Wilkinson.

GOOD- Alexandr Shabliy vs. Alfie Davis
There’s not much going on for the first half of the first round until they begin throwing a bunch of strikes from all angles until the round ends. The second round begins with some striking exchanges that lead to them trading low blows. Later, Shabliy begins battering Davis and nearly stops him but Davis is saved by the bell. The third round starts with some good striking exchanges before both fighters are warned for sticking their fingers straight out at each other. Take a point from both of them, ref. Anyway, they go back to trading strikes and hurting each other before Shabliy gets a takedown but Davis fights back to his feet and the fight ends. We go to the judges to render their verdict.
Shabliy wins the decision to improve to 25-4 while Davis drops to 20-7-1. Good win for Shabliy.

GOOD- Liz Carmouche submits Viviane Araujo
They trade strikes early and fight against the cage until Carmouche gets a trip takedown. Araujo is back to her feet quickly but Carmouche gets a takedown before the first round ends. The second round begins with Carmouche kicking Araujo hard in the lead leg. Araujo goes for a takedown but Carmouche jumps guard and locks in a tight guillotine that forces the tap a little over two minutes into the second round.
Carmouche improves to 26-8 and has won 4 straight fights while Araujo drops to 14-8. Good win for Carmouche.

GOOD- A.J. McKee vs. Salamat Isbulaev
They trade a lot of strikes early until McKee gets a takedown. They scramble around for a while and are up and down a few times. McKee gets warned for grabbing the fence and an elbow to the back of the head. They trade more strikes and McKee gets another takedown and the first round ends. The second round begins with the fighters trading strikes until Isbulaev gets a takedown. They’re grappling hard, both threatening the other with submission holds, until they get up. McKee slams Isbulaev down and is pounding on him with hard strikes until the second round ends. The third round starts with Isbulaev cutting McKee on the left eyebrow. They continue trading strikes and now Isbulaev is cut on the eyebrow. Both men continue landing powerful strikes. McKee gets a takedown but Isbulaev threatens with submission attempts. McKee unleashes a torrent of elbows that rip into Isbulaev and further cut him. The fight ends so we go to the judges to render their verdict.
McKee wins the decision to improve to 25-2 and has won 3 straight fights while Isbulaev is given his first loss and drops to 10-1. Good win for McKee.

UFC Fight Night: Fiziev vs. Torres
GOOD- Abusupiyan Magomedov submits Michal Oleksiejczuk
Magomedov starts the fight doing the Palpatine and gets warned by the referee. I’m sure that’ll stop him. They trade a few strikes and Magomedov is again sticking his fingers straight out. Take a point, ref. I’m sick of this junk. Magomedov is landing kicks early while Oleksiejczuk returns fire with punches. Magomedov lands a nice elbow that drops Oleksiejczuk and he wraps up a tight guillotine that forces the tap almost three and a half minutes into the first round.
Magomedov improves to 29-7-1 while Oleksiejczuk drops to 22-10 with 1 No Contest and has his 3 fight winning streak snapped. Good win for Magomedov.

GOOD- Ikram Aliskerov vs. Brunno Ferreira
Aliskerov gets an early takedown but Ferreira is quickly back to his feet. They trade a few strikes before Aliskerov gets another takedown and remains in control until the first round ends. The second round begins with them trading some strikes until Aliskerov gets another takedown. Ferreira is fighting and they’re up and down a few times before the second round ends. The third round starts with more of the same, as Aliskerov shows his advantage in grappling. The fight ends so we go to the judges to render their verdict.
Aliskerov wins the decision to improve to 18-2 and has won 3 straight fights while Ferreira drops to 15-4. Good win for Aliskerov.

GOOD- Asu Almabayev submits Charles Johnson
They trade strikes in the early going until Almabayev gets a takedown. Eventually Almabayev lets Johnson up just to take him down again and the first round ends. The second round begins with Almabayev tearing into Johnson with strikes and drops him for a second. Almabayev then gets a takedown and stays on top until the second round ends. The third round starts with Johnson landing some good strikes before Almabayev takes him down again. Almabayev works and eventually locks in a Suloev Stretch that forces the tap just over three and a half minutes into the third round. Wow.
Almabayev improves to 24-3 and has won 3 straight fights while Johnson drops to 19-9. Good win for Almabayev.

GOOD- Matheus Camilo stops Nazim Sadykhov
Things are tentative until Camilo drops Sadykhov with a big right hand and throws some hammerfists at him until the referee jumps in to stop the fight a minute and a half into the first round. Seemed maybe early but I guess that’s better than being too late.
Camilo improves to 11-3 while Sadykhov drops to 11-3-1. Good win for Camilo.

UGLY- Sharabutdin Magomedov vs. Michel Pereira
Pereira drops Magomedov with a big right hand and follows him down. They’re grappling and Magomedov is warned for pulling Pereira’s hair. He does it again and the referee warns him again. Take a point, ref. Or take two points but do something to stop this blatant cheating. This is ridiculous. They grapple until the end of the first round. The second round begins with not much happening. It stays that way for the entire round. There were some strikes thrown and landed but not many. The third round starts with some nice striking exchanges. Then Magomedov pokes Pereira in the eye. That was clearly intentional and complete bush league garbage. Of course, no point is taken. What the hell are the rules even for, then? They strike some more before the fight ends and we go to the judges to render their verdict.
In a complete joke, Magomedov wins the decision and improves to 17-1 while Pereira drops to 32-15 with 2 No Contests.
There’s no way Magomedov should have been able to cheat his way to this victory. It should have been a win for Pereira. This is absolute nonsense. What is this, the WNBA? Referee Herb Dean should be embarrassed by this and of course Magomedov should be ashamed of this “victory”. Moving on…

GOOD- Rafael Fiziev stops Manuel Torres
The pace is fast as they trade strikes early. Fiziev gets a takedown but Torres is right back to his feet and they go back to trading strikes. Fiziev gets another takedown before the first round ends. The second round begins with Fiziev nailing Torres with a spinning wheel kick that drops him. Fiziev follows up and hammers on him until the referee is forced to jump in to stop the fight fifteen seconds into the second round. Wow.
Fiziev improves to 14-5 while Torres drops to 17-4. Good win for Fiziev.
