UFC Fight Night: Silva vs. Delgado was this past weekend and featured a lot of decisions and some exciting fights. Who won and who lost? Let’s get to the rundown.
UFC Fight Night: Nurmagomedov vs. Song
BAD- David Martinez vs. Dan Ige
They trade strikes through a tense but largely uneventful first round. The second round begins and ends with more of the same, except with even less connecting. The third round starts with still more of the same. The only difference between this and the other rounds is that Martinez gets a takedown toward the end of the round. The round ends so we go to the judges to render their verdict on this fight that never got out of first gear.
Martinez wins the decision to improve to 15-1 and has won 11 straight fights while Ige drops to 19-12 and has lost 3 straight fights. It’s a win for Martinez.
BAD- Waldo Cortes-Acosta vs. Curtis Blaydes
They clinch and trade a few strikes before Blaydes gets a takedown. The second round begins with Blaydes getting another takedown. They’re up and down but eventually Cortes-Acosta and they spar until the second round ends. The third round starts with a little bit of trading strikes before eventually Blaydes gets another takedown. The fight ends so we go to the judges to render their verdict on this terrible fight.
Blaydes wins the decision to improve to 20-6 with 1 No Contest while Cortes-Acosta drops to 17-4. It’s a win for Blaydes.
GOOD- Manon Fiorot vs. Alexa Grasso
They trade a lot of strikes early, including one from Grasso toward the end of the first round that drops Fiorot. The second round begins with more of the same, as Grasso continues to land more. Fiorot is connecting with strikes, just not as many as Grasso. The third round starts with more heavy strikes landing for each woman. Fiorot is having a lot of success here but she’s not going to be able to finish her. We go to the judges to render their verdict.
Grasso wins the decision to improve to 18-5-1 while Fiorot drops to 13-3. Good win for Grasso.
GOOD- Tommy McMillen vs. Marwan Rahiki
McMillen starts off by landing a head kick then an overhand right before getting a takedown. They get up and McMillen attacks the leg as both men exchange strikes. The second round begins with some strikes being traded before Rahiki drops McMillen with a powerful left hook. Rahiki lets him stand but is all over him. McMillen fires back, though, and they trade strikes until McMillen gets a takedown. The third round starts with Rahiki getting a takedown. McMillen reverses and scores some ground-and-pound before they scramble to their feet. McMillen drops Rahiki with an overhand right and pounces on him. Rahiki is able to get to his feet, however, and they continue to trade strikes until the fight ends. We go to the judges to render their verdict. Great fight.
McMillen wins the decision to improve to a perfect 12-0 while Rahiki gets his first career loss and is now 9-1. Good win for McMillen.
GOOD- Brandon Moreno vs. Joseph Morales
They’re trading strikes right away, with Moreno landing some nice power shots. Morales fires back and gets a takedown. Moreno is right back up, though, and they continue trading strikes until the first round ends. The second round begins with more striking exchanges, with Morales landing a few more, and the second round ends. The third round starts with more fast striking exchanges until Moreno gets a takedown and works some ground-and-pound until the fight ends. We go to the judges to render their verdict of this very close fight.
Moreno wins the Split Decision to improve to 24-10-2 while Morales drops to 14-3 and has his 5 fight winning streak snapped. Good win for Moreno.
GOOD- Jean Silva submits Jose Delgado
Not much happening early. Delgado knocks Silva to the canvas but he quickly scrambles back to his feet and gets a takedown. Delgado is right back up, though, and the first round ends. The second round begins with the Petrification spell that was on Silva wearing off as he starts to come alive. Delgado is still being very active, though. They’re trading strong strikes before Silva gets a takedown but Delgado is quickly back to his feet and they flurry to close the second round. The third round starts with Silva landing punches while Delgado lands some kicks until Silva drops Delgado with a big overhand right. Silva races behind Delgado and locks in a tight rear-naked choke that forces the tap not quite three minutes into the third round.
Silva improves to 18-3 while Delgado drops to 12-3. Good win for Silva.

Serena Summers continues to learn and grow as a fighter, desperately seeking to become stronger before she loses anyone else in her life. Daniel Summers discovers new parts of the world that open his eyes to just how little he truly knows. A new hero, Lamar Abeers, arrives to join the fight against evil. Plus, Zach Summers, Tiana Highsmith, and Xavien Ekens continue their journeys with their friends, and a new ruler of Vhaharen is crowned. The world has found a little peace. However, that peace is only temporary. In a shocking act of violence, the monstrous villain Galren strikes from the shadows and changes the world forever. This is Book 4 in the series. There’s lots of action, magic, and monsters in the Kingdom of Zarias. It’s like a tabletop game in novel form. It’s on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and many other places. Also, my line of comic books are now available under the 3P Comics label. If you’re interested, I would greatly appreciate it if you would check it out and support me.
