UFC Vet victim of a fatal hit and run

UFC veteran Rodrigo De Lima was, unfortunately, a victim of a hit and run in Brazil over the weekend. De Lima was a passenger in an uber vehicle when an argument broke out. De Lima was struck after the driver left the scene of the argument, only to return and strike the fighter from behind. “Monstro” as he was known throughout his career leaves behind a wife and children.

Joseph Benavidez comments on Dillashaw suspension

TJ Dillashaw and Joseph Benavidez used to be friends but those were different days. These days Benavidez is still churning the waters of the flyweight division, while Dillashaw is suspended for two years. If you thought Benavidez was going to stand up for his old friend, think again.

“I wasn’t surprised at all that he finally got caught, wasn’t surprising at all. There’s nothing I can really say as far as, like, that hasn’t already been said. I’m not going to sit here and say the guy is this and that because if you look at the internet and everyone, it’s already been said. So, there’s nothing worse you can say than what everyone already thinks, which I think is warranted. Everything that people are out there giving him, it’s 100 percent warranted for what he did.” (transcribed by MMAFighting)

Update on Darren Till

News broke over the weekend that Darren Till unleashed himself in Costa Adeje. He trashed a hotel room and stole a cab, and you have to wonder if he’d just watched “The Hangover.” Well, it would seem as though they don’t have much of a problem with clogged courts there because Till has already been through his trial and received his punishment. According to Aaron Bronsteter, Till and four others must pay the hotel €10,000. Till and one other person were further fined for the damage and for the car theft.

Walt Harris accepts suspension

Walt Harris has accepted a four-month suspension stemming from his positive test after his UFC 232 bout with Andrei Arlovski. Several tests proved that the failure was the result of a tainted supplement and USADA credited Harris with being fully corporative.
