The UFC does not come to London until March, but Dylan Thompson already has an early list of 3 U.K fighters who deserve a spot on the card.

3 U.K Fighters who deserve the nod for UFC London

In this article I will be discussing fighters from the United Kingdom who deserve a place on the UFC London card. I will discussing why I feel these fighters should be on the card and who I think they would make a good fight against.

Nathaniel Wood 16-3

First up in my U.K UFC fighters who deserve the nod for UFC London is Nathaniel “The Prospect” Wood. Wood is currently on an eight fight win streak and is on a current three fight win streak in the UFC since making the move from Cage Warriors.

“The Prospect” has a professional record of (16-3), nine of these victories have come via KO/TKO, five have come via submission and two via decision. Wood has won his last three fights via submission, two coming via rear-naked choke and one with a brabo choke.

One potential opponent for Wood that seems to be gathering pace on Social Media is Marlon “Chito” Vera (15-5), Vera is currently on a five fight win streak with three coming via KO/TKO and two coming via submission. Both fighters have engaged on Twitter recently about the potential fight and both seem more than willing to put their names forward for UFC London.

With Wood being from London I will be very surprised if he doesn’t get the nod for this card and if Vera is to be his opponent, we could have a really entertaining fight on our hands.

Darren Stewart 11-4

Next up is Darren “The Dentist” Stewart, again Stewart is another fighter hailing from London, England. “The Dentist” is currently on a two fight win streak and will without doubt be hoping to get his name on this card as he looks to extend this winning streak.

“The Dentist” has a professional record of (11-4), seven of these victories have come via KO/TKO and four coming via decision. Stewart has very good range, movement and speed which can cause problems for a lot of fighters in the division.

A potential opponent for Stewart is Polish fighter, Krzysztof Jotko. Jotko currently has a professional record of (21-4) with six of those victories coming via KO/TKO, one coming via submission and fourteen coming via decision.

Personally, I think it is criminal that Stewart’s name isn’t getting mentioned as much when it comes to potential fights for UFC London. He’s on a fantastic run since moving to the Middleweight division from light-heavyweight and deserves the respect of fighting in front of his hometown supporters.

Marc Diakiese 14-3

Last up is Marc “Bonecrusher” Diakiese. He is currently on a two fight win streak after going nearly two years without a victory and will surely be looking to carry on his surge following his return to form.

Diakiese holds a professional record of (14-3) with six of those victories coming via KO/TKO, one coming via submission and seven coming via decision. He is always looking to push the pace in his fights and has stated previously that he wants to keep moving forward in the division by fighting the top ranked opponents.

A fight I’d personally love to see at UFC London is Diakiese vs Mairbek “Beckan” Taisumov, I think this could potentially be one of the fights of the nights. Taisumov has a professional record of (27-6) with fifteen coming via KO/TKO, nine coming via submission and two decision victories. This would be the step up that Diakiese is after and would be the perfect opportunity to keep moving up the rankings.
