Ricky Simon doesn’t have much in the way of notable wins, but he does have an impressive 15-1 record. Urijah Faber is returning after a couple years out of the cage but he looked good in his last performance and wasn’t getting knocked out in most of his losses. Bantamweight is a speed heavy division and as one ages, it’s your speed that goes. So while Faber has the skills, experience, and fight IQ to beat Ricky Simon, his ring rust and age will prevent him from keeping up with the younger fighter. Simon by decision.

So if Uriah Faber wins, what happens next? Nothing, that’s what happens! Faber is the ultimate gatekeeper. Go ahead and root for him, he’ll get another title shot and lose. Faber is more experienced, but I think Ricky Simon is on the type of streak you ride to a title shot. Ricky Simon will most likely TKO Uriah Faber if he’s serious, if Faber lasts the whole fight, Simon needs new coaches.

I think Simon stops Faber by TKO late in the 2nd round. Faber has taken a lot of punishment over the years so I don’t know how much more he can take. He’s had a great career but no question it’s winding down. If he still loves it, I say keep fighting for now. But if there’s any doubt in his mind, it’s time to retire.
