It’s been more than two years since Georges St-Pierre relinquished his UFC Welterweight Championship in order to take a self-imposed hiatus, and though there’s been conversation about a return in 2016, he hasn’t officially announced whether or not he’ll indeed return.

That may change this week.

According to Quebec talk radio station FM93 and sports reporter Dan Pou on Twitter, St-Pierre is set to announce his return in the coming days. St-Pierre had been set to do a test camp to kick off the year to make his determination, and if this comes to fruition that will have come to pass sooner than expected.

Penick’s Analysis: Getting an official intent to return will be a great step, and next is figuring out where he goes from there. Is he coming back to regain the title? Do they make the fight with him against Robbie Lawler? Is he giong to take other types of fights? How long is he sticking around? We’ll find out soon enough it seems, but it looks like we will indeed be seeing him back in the cage at least once more.
