I’ll go with Aldo by decision. Aldo has been around for a long time and fought in a lot of wars but he’s still young enough that it feels weird to say he’s lost too many steps to hang with contenders. Moraes could absolutely get the win, but I think Aldo is patient and picks him apart with strikes and gets the nod from the judges.

Something definitely doesn’t feel right about Jose Aldo moving down to 135. Marlon Moraes is one of the top guys in that division so there’s no tune-up for Aldo here. It can be deceiving to judge a fighter based on how he or she looks during a weight cut so I’ll try and put that aside in Aldo’s case and assume he’ll be in good form when the fight comes. With that in mind, I think Aldo’s skill set will translate well to 135 and he can score a third-round TKO over Moraes.

Now if you have seen pictures of Jose Aldo during this camp, you would have seen how difficult it looks for him to cut weight. He is coming up against a dangerous man in Moraes who is just as comfortable on the ground as he is stood up but if we see even a glimpse of the past Aldo this will be a really interesting bout. The time for reminiscing is over, Marlon Moraes is the future and this is how he claims that future. Moraes has a ton of potential and will be more than motivated to beat Aldo. Jose Aldo is done, Marlon Moraes will outclass a legend, bringing his career to a merciful end. If Aldo doesn’t leave his gloves in the ring then he is going to go out like BJ Penn did, sad and alone.
