Bethe Correia got a shot against Ronda Rousey in August despite not having fought any top 15 opponents, but in her first fight since that 34 second loss, she’ll get a top ten competitor in Jessica Eye.
According to a report from Combate in Brazil, that fight is set to happen in Pittsburgh this February at UFC Fight Night 82.
Correia’s road to the title came by defeating two of Rousey’s close friends in Jessamyn Duke and Shayna Baszler. Those victories moved her to 9-0 on a young career, but she had never faced any top end competitors before getting knocked out by Rousey in 34 seconds at UFC 190.
Eye is in desperate need of a win, as she’s got just one victory in five UFC appearances to date. A split decision win over Sarah Kaufman in her debut was overturned due to a failed drug test for marijuana, and she’s been beat in three of four since then, including two straight against Miesha Tate and Julianna Pena this year.
UFC Fight Night 82 hits the Consol Energy Center on Feb. 21. It will air live on Fox Sports 1, though no headliner has yet been set.
