Valentina Shevchenko will not be resting on her laurels this summer.

According to an ESPN report,  UFC’s women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko is expected to defend her title  Liz Carmouche in Montevideo, Uruguay, on Aug. 10.

Shevchencko is coming off of a brutal KO victory over Jessica Eye at UFC 238. The win over Eye boosted, Shevchenko’s overall MMA record to 17-3.

One of those three losses is to Carmouche.

Back in September 2010, Carmouche defeated Shevchenko via TKO (doctor stoppage) at  “C3 Fights: Red River Rivalry.”  Since that fight, Shevchencko has only lost two fights, both of them to current bantamweight/featherweight champion Amanda Nunes.

Carmouche has won her last two fights, her most recent victory coming over Lucie Pudilová in February.

While sporting a 13-6 record, Carmouche has been a part of UFC history on several occasions.

At UFC 157, in February 2013, Carmouche became the UFC’s first openly LGBT fighter. At that same event, she was also one-half of the first ever women’s bout in the UFC when she faced Ronda Rousey for the bantamweight title.

Additionally, Carmouche also fought in the opener of UFC’s debut at Madison Square Garden, defeating Katlyn Chookagian at UFC 205.
