The UFC parts ways with former title challenger Cat Zingano.
After six years with the company, Cat Zingano has parted ways with the UFC.
According to a report by MMAJunkie, the UFC has released Zingano.
Most recently, Zingano fell to Meagan Anderson via TKO in December 2018. The loss was a result of an eye injury that Zingano suffered via the foot of Anderson.
The fight with Anderson marked the first at featherweight for Zingano.
Previously, Zingano had fought in the UFC’s bantamweight division. She posted a 3-4 overall record in the UFC.
Zingo boasts a victories over former bantamweight champion Miesha Tate, and current bantamweight/featherweight champion Amanda Nunes.
However, her most high-profile fight came in February 2015 at UFC 184, when she challenged then-bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. Rousey would submit Zingano in :14.
