At UFC on Fox 26, on Dec. 16, Ricardo Lamas takes on Josh Emmett. Who will win?

I’m going with Lamas. Nothing against Emmett, but I can’t see Lamas losing to him and dropping out of the title picture. I think Lamas wins by decision or maybe a late 3rd round stoppage. I’ll give Emmett credit for being tough, but I think Lamas takes this.

I have Ricardo Lamas winning this fight by decision. He will control the fight with his threat of takedowns and will eventually land some takedowns and do some damage on the ground. Josh Emmett has failed to impress me in his previous outings in the UFC and I don’t think he has enough to beat Lamas.

Weird fight, I think of Emmett as being an extremely similar fighter to Lamas, being pretty well rounded but not spectacular in any area. Lamas has only lost to the absolute upper echelon of the division, whereas Emmett has no big fight experience at all, and that will likely be the difference maker. Lamas against Aldo would have been a much more interesting fight. Lamas by decision.

From a technical standpoint this fight is very difficult to predict. However, because of the stakes, I will go with Ricardo Lamas. It feels like the winner of this fight will win the Brian Ortega sweepstakes.

I’m a fan of Ricardo Lamas and I think he has this one in the bag. I don’t think Josh Emmett is going to be the challenge most think.
