Germaine de Randamie had a 17 month gap in between her last two matchups, and she’s been out another year since her win over Larissa Pacheco at UFC 185. Now, “The Iron Lady” will return to action in front of a home country crowd in The Netherlands at UFC Fight Night 87 in Rotterdam this May.
The UFC announced this week that de Randamie will welcome newcomer Anna Elmose to the Octagon on that card, which is slated for Fox Sports 1 on May 8.
De Randamie was among the first female fighters to compete in the Octagon, joining her fellow Strikeforce vets when the UFC launched the division in 2013. She defeated Julie Kedzie in her debut, then was taken out by Amanda Nunes that November by TKO before making her return against Pacheco last year.
Anna “Panda” Elmose is a 3-0 fighter who began her professional career in 2014. The Denmark native has stopped all three of her opponents, but hasn’t fought since scoring a second round KO win last May.
UFC Fight Night 87 is the UFC’s first ever trip to The Netherlands, and will be headlined by Dutch heavyweight Alistair Overeem in a fight against teammate and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski.
