Hart Attack
Pro-wrestling legend and Canadian icon Bret “The Hitman” Hart walked on stage Saturday night with his niece Natalya Neidhart to accept an induction to the WWE Hall of Fame for the Hart Foundation tag team Hart was in with the late Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart. A man ran into the crown and tackled Hart. He was quickly subdued by a gang of WWE personnel and security including former UFC heavyweight Travis Browne, who was in attendance with his wife Ronda Rousey.
The perpetrator has been identified by CBSSports as Zachary Madsen, a 26-year-old with a 2-1 amateur MMA record.

Madsen was handed over to New York Police and was charged with two counts of assault and trespassing. Regardless of the charges, Madsen took a good thumping from anyone who could get their hands on him once he jumped the barricade, as is pro-wrestling tradition. Hart came out of the ordeal relatively unscathed, only suffering minor injuries according to the CBSSports report and went on to finish his speech.
Why we wear gloves
Former UFC fighters Artem Lobov and Jason Knight went to war Saturday night at Bareknuckle FC 5 in Biloxi, Mississippi. Lobov walked away with a unanimous decision win after five, two-minute rounds. It turned out to be quite a fight, and if we learned anything, it’s that boxers and MMA fighters wear gloves for a reason.
Both Lobov and Knight have severely cut up faces to show for the war they went through. Both men showed off their battle wounds after the fight through social media.
“Any plaster lads?” Lobov wrote on a tweet with a picture of his beaten face taken from a hospital bed.

Knight thinks he came out of the fight looking a little better than his opponent, but the picture he posted leaves that open to debate.

The fight capped off a largely entertaining card that also saw Chris Leben looking like “The Crippler” of days gone by with a 25-second win over Justin Baesman.

-After a disappointing fight early on last night’s BKFC 5 card, BKFC president David Feldman took the mic and said that he was going to take half the purse from loser Rusty Crowder and give it to winner Reggie Barnett. Feldman later backed down on this decision and gave the following statement to MYMMANews.com: “I am very passionate about this sport and the building process. The fighters get paid very well. All I ask is that they fight their hearts out. I tell the fighters that the companies growth depends on their performance. At the time I thought it was the right thing to do, but did what I thought was right so, after the fight Rusty was paid what he was contracted to be paid. We had a talk and he understands what I meant. It was more of a knee jerk reaction, because he didn’t try to fight. That being said, we couldn’t be happier with the results of last nights event and look forward to what the future holds.”
