Everyone makes weight for UFC 231

Everyone booked on the UFC 231 card made weight today, something that seems to be a rarity of late. The only person who didn’t make weight, was the one person whose only job was to make weight, Renato Moicano. Moicano was asked to train and make weight in case a replacement was needed for the Max Holloway-Brian Ortega title fight. Moicano’s services won’t be needed, which is good because he weight in at 146 pounds, one pound above the championship limit for featherweight.

Mayweather gets his rules for Tenshin Nasukawa fight

The rules for the Dec. 31 fight between Floyd Mayweather and Tenshin Nasukawa have been set. The bout will be contested under boxing rules with three, three minute rounds. Both fighters will wear 8 ounce gloves and have to weigh in at 147 pounds. There will be no judges and the result will not be considered for either man’s record.

Dana White thinks Cormier has three more fights

Daniel Cormier has made it known that he intends to retire following his 40th birthday early next year. Dana White has other plans, however.

“When it’s time for someone to retire, I’m the first one to say, ‘See you later, have a good rest of your life,’” White told MMA Junkie. Cormier isn’t that guy. I think Cormier’s got three good fights left in him. I’d love to see him stick around longer. We’ll see how it plays out. I know his camp is really pulling for him to call it a wrap. I hope he doesn’t.”

White also said that Cormier wants to fight Jon Jones again at 205 pounds but that he would prefer to see that fight at heavyweight.
