Look, I make it no secret that I don’t like Jon Jones, he is the biggest, fakest, most fraudulent flaming bag of donkey turds ever to exist in the MMA space not named War Machine. His holier than thou persona is so far lost to his criminal misdeeds and steroid cheating that he should walk around with an upside down cross since he is essentually the antichrist to any MMA purest. This man spins more threads of flagrent lies than … you know what I’m not gonna make this political, but Jones is a douche. Today he made a comment that affirmed that he is also absolutely resolutely a coward. How you ask? Well lets chat.
” I had already voiced that I wasn’t interested in anymore randoms. Now, magically, I’m ducking a fight that’s never been negotiated or discussed at any table that matters. Lol I’m sticking to my plans, Jon Jones jumps for no one. How many belts does one need? How many times do I have to break my own record?”
WHERE DO I EVEN START WITH THIS!? Randoms? RANDOMS? Tom Aspinall is for all purposes the greatest heavyweight in MMA since early Cain Velasquez, and he has the upside to become so much more. Let’s also be clear, that statement is stupid for one reason – it’s confirmation that he is in fact going to duck this fight when its tabled. I don’t know about you wonderful readers, but I don’t give 2/3s of a sheep testicle about Jones vs Miocic. Stipe retired 3 years ago after a hilariously violent knockout against the hardest puncher in heavyweight history. You know who would of faced Aspinall like a grown up? Francis. BRING HIM BACK DANA PAY THE MAN! But I digress, Jones is absolutely laying the ground work to duck this fight when it comes his way. I’ll drop an I told you so in a year give or take, just wait. Sticking to his plans? The fights already been delayed from November 2023 – and at this point 9 months later is not on the calendar anywhere…soooo what plans?
Dana also needs to remove head from rear and promote Tom to undisputed. Jones won the heavyweight strap against Gane 17 months ago. SEVENTEEN MONTHS. Hasn’t defended it, how the hell? Injuries aside we all know dude doesnt like to put in work. Tommy boy, who I love hes just so violent and wholesome – truly a weird mix, won the Interim title in November of 2023 and defended it this past July. How is this at all fair? ASPINALL FOR UNDISPUTED 2024!
Let’s talk about that “how many belts” statement real quick because OH MY GOD does it get really funny when you think about it. Jones shakin in his Bones won the LHW title in March 2011 over Shogun Rua. He was stripped after defeating Daniel Cormier in 2015 due to a violation of the UFC athlete conduct policy – if youve forgotten that one time he hit a pregnant woman and broke her arm in a hit and run – left, ran back, grabbed a wad of cash, stuffed it in his past and ran off again. Oh, and he left his weed in the car. Mans a genius. A year later he came back and won the (GASP) INTERIM LHW title after defeating OSP. Oh wait wait waiiiiit, he was stripped of that too, after testing positive for MULTIPLE steroids. Ok so, he came back again right? Defeated Daniel Cormier by head kick in his glorious return to the throne…oh oh god no. Nope, overturned by the NSAC and STRIPPED AGAIN after testing positive for hold on let me check my note book – YEP steroids. YIKES. He did eventually win it back again while it sat vacant in a bout with Gustaffson, but we already knew. He would then go on to win the vacant HW title againt Gane but lets look at these stats, shall we?
Jones has “won” 5 titles.
Jones has been stripped 3 times.
So if we’re talking about how many belts does one need – welp apparently were gonna do some math her …. 5 … minus 3 … mmkay 2. Congrats! You dont hold any records aside from LHW title defenses and total amount of times being stripped! Aren’t you a bang up guy.
In all seriousness, Jones’s already crappy legacy is going to be burned to the ground of he only sticks around to fight a guy who will have been retired for 4 years before they fight, not to mention who will be 43 as well. Rather than Tom Aspinall who will be 32 which is the exact same as the age gap between Jones and Stipe.
Two things NEED to happen, Jones needs to face Aspinall and if he doesnt he needs take the Goat crown that he already doesnt deserve and hand it back to those of us who judge more than just how they fight to reward it to someone deserving, he also needs to admit hes scared – hes shook – he knows damn well Aspinall would ruin him in that octagon.
