3 Fights to Watch 12/3/22

Derek Brunson vs Jack Hermansson [canceled]

Middleweight

This fight has been canceled but whenever it takes place consider this:

Alright, winner gets a push back towards the top. I got Hermansson dogwalking Brunson but I’ve been wrong many times before. Brunson definitely needs the win more. I’m Rooting for Brunson, I’ve watched his career and want to see him succeed. Nothing against Hermansson at all, he deserves to be in the spots he’s been in as well.

Tai Tuivasa vs Sergei Pavlovich

Heavyweight

The UFC desperately needs stars and they are desperately trying to make Tai Tuivasa one. I have no problem with that whatsoever but he’s got to show us another level, this is his opportunity to do so; no time like the present.

It won’t be easy for Tai against the last man to beat Derrick Lewis. Just one loss, that’s a big deal to live up to, the pressure is on both competitors really. Sergei Pavlovich is trying to take the very spot Tai has and he may very well do it in dramatic fashion. This one will end in an explosion.

Stephen Thompson vs Kevin Holland

Welterweight

Stephen Thompson hasn’t done a single thing of note since losing to Woodley years ago. Kevin Holland has one highlight reel knockout and started talking shit like he’s Prime time Deion Sanders. It’ll be a slugfest and one man will crumble like old hot water cornbread. I’m picking Holland because I have no faith left in WonderBoy’s heart. The winner of this gains momentum but how much momentum isn’t easy to figure out. I think a highlight reel knockout does nothing for either fighter. They need to show dominance, not something that can be seen as a lucky shot.

Honorable mentions

Bryan Barbarena vs Rafael Dos Anjos

Welterweight

This card is stacked! There are money fights up and down the card.

Barbarena took out Lawler so naturally taking out the most overrated bum in welterweight history is next. RDA lost his last fight and doesn’t look as if he’s going to win this one. I never saw RDA as anything other than A guy, not THEE guy, even when he held gold. With that said, Dos Anjos is not the worst fighter in the roster, just overrated. Bryan Barbarena has his work cut out for him but I think he’ll continue his win streak, making it 4 straight and making short work of Rafael.

Final take

This is a solid card, definitely a card that will shape future pay per views.

Eryk Anders vs Kyle Daukaus is also a fight I’m looking forward to, it just seems like it’s going to be really good. Both are seeking redemption,  looking to avenge tough losses. Canceled fights are going to be an ongoing issue, it sucks but it’s becoming more common these days. The vest we can do is turn on the PPV and enjoy those men and women putting their bodies on the line to entertain us.
