There were no events this weekend so I’ll just go over some news
items. Fair warning, though. It’s a slow news week so not much is
happening.
KSW is considered the top MMA organization in Poland. 5-time World’s
Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski defeated Michal Materla with a
vicious uppercut that knocked him out 1:47 into the first round.
Pudzianowski is about 50 pounds lighter than his Strongman days, where
he was one of the best ever, but he obviously still has tremendous
power. Pudzianowski’s MMA record stands at 17-7 with 1 No Contest and
he’s won 5 straight fights.

Nate Diaz called out Khamzat Chimaev for a fight, as he has with
several others. Nate accused him of ducking him, essentially. Khamzat
responded with “You are funny, are you high? It seems like you have
been smoking.”
This will likely turn into a meme but as I’m sure thousands have
already told him yes. Yes, Nate Diaz has probably been smoking. To be
serious, it’s an interesting fight and I personally would love to see
it. I can’t speak for anyone else but I’d be all for the UFC making
this fight. It’d get the most eyes on Chimaev. I know Diaz has lost 3
of his last 4 fights and doesn’t compete often but unless they have
something else lined up to showcase Chimaev they might as well go with
this fight.

Tito Ortiz has floated the idea of having one last fight and he wants
it against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in the UFC. Ortiz is 47 years old,
Shogun is 40. This isn’t at all likely but I’m scraping the bottom of
the barrel here. It’s been an extremely slow news week. Speaking of…

Conor McGregor is going to have a CT scan done to determine if he’ll
be cleared to begin kicking as he continues to rehab from breaking his
tibia in a fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. He
may return by the end of the year but I could also see the UFC wanting
to kick off 2023 with his return fight.
My fantasy book is now out. It’s called Kingdom of Zarias: Undeath and
the Dewester Set. It’s a fantasy epic that begins with the Summers
siblings but spreads out to encompass a large number of characters
across multiple stories as the world faces a threat from a vile
necromancer. There’s lots of action, magic, and monsters in the
Kingdom of Zarias. It’s like a tabletop game in novel form. It’s on
Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and many other places. If you’re interested, I
would greatly appreciate it if you would check it out and support me.
