After Khabib Nurmagomedov dispatched of Dustin Poirier at UFC 242, the question remains: Who should get the next shot at Khabib Nurmagomedov?

Who SHOULD get the next shot at Khabib Nurmagomedov?

Tony Ferguson, without question. Anyone saying otherwise is just trying to squeeze some more money from Conor McGregor’s fame while they can. McGregor got beat by Nurmagomedov pretty handily and nothing has happened to make you think that won’t happen again.

The last time we saw McGregor he was busy punching an old man in a bar and he didn’t even seem to faze him that much. What makes anyone think he’s going to knock out Nurmagomedov? So there’s no question that Ferguson should get the shot. He actually has a chance to beat Nurmagomedov. If the UFC is so hell-bent on wanting to get back into the McGregor business, sign him to fight someone on the same night as Ferguson-Nurmagomedov. If one of them has to pull out, put McGregor in. Also, if the fight goes on and McGregor beats whoever he faces, he can get in the cage at the end of the night and cut some wild and crazy promo and maybe build hype for the rematch.

It’s gotta be Tony Ferguson. It’s the right fight based on merit and fan interest so this one’s a no brainer. UFC has been putting out feelers on social media for Conor McGregor and GSP fights with Khabib but it’s not the right time for Conor and the GSP idea just feels like pure fantasy.

Tony Ferguson is always going to be the answer to this question. Tony Ferguson beat the hell out of Cowboy and anyone else I’ve seen people trying to match up against Khabib has lost their last fight. Oh, and one of them lost to Khabib himself. Tony’s striking ain’t nothing to play with, just ask Donald Cerrone’s eye. Stack the card and let the match we’ve wanted for seemingly forever.
