BELLATOR BIRMINGHAM PREVIEW & PREDICTIONS: Grocke’s updated odds & predictions for every fight

By Michael Grocke, MMATorch Fight Handicapper

Bellator MMA travels overseas to the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, England for Bellator Birmingham on Saturday. The main event takes place in the Bellator lightweight division where Bent Primus takes on Tim Wilde.
Brent Primus put himself on the MMA map when he won the Bellator lightweight championship by defeating Michael Chandler by TKO due to doctor’s stoppage at Bellator 180. Unfortunately for Primus, he dropped the title back to Chandler in the rematch, losing by unanimous decision at Bellator 212. The thirty-four-year-old will look to get back in the win column when he faces Wilde on Saturday. The Sports Lab product boasts six finishes in his eight career victories.

Tim Wilde makes his Bellator debut on Saturday. He is currently riding a three-fight win streak. His most recent win was at Golden Ticket Fight Promotions-Fight Night 9 where he stopped Anthony Dizy with punches in the second round. The English born fighter has six wins via stoppage in his twelve career victories. The thirty-one-year-old will certainly have the backing of the hometown crowd for this one.

The co-main stays in the Bellator lightweight division where Derek Campos goes up against Pedro Carvalho. After winning four fights in a row, Carvalho has dropped his last two. His most recent loss occurred at Bellator 212 where he lost via split decision to Sam Sicilia and prior to that he got finished in the first round by Patricky Freire at Bellator 194.

Pedro Carvalho, on the other hand, comes into Saturday’s fight riding a four-fight win streak. His most recent win came at Bellator 211 where he subbed Luca Vitali in the first round. This will be Carvalho’s third fight for the promotion.

The main card also includes undefeated Fabian Edwards taking on Bellator newcomer Falco Neto and Raymond Daniels vs. Wilker Barros, both making their promotional debuts.

Note: The predictions in this column do not necessarily mean that I will be betting them. I have changed my mind in the past and gone the other way after conducting more research. For all of my official bets follow me on Twitter @MichaelGrocke.
