After a bad weight cut left him well off the mark for UFC 201, Justin Scoggins is making a move up to bantamweight for his next fight.
According to a report from MMAJunkie.com, Scoggins is expected to face Pedro Munhoz at UFC Fight Night 95 in Brasilia, Brazil, on Sept. 24 for that 135 lb. debut.
Scoggins, 24, was no better than eight pounds off the mark for his scheduled fight with Ian McCall last week in Atlanta. McCall refused a catchweight fight after previous negative experience in a similar situation, leading Scoggins to go on an ill-advised tirade about that decision on Twitter.
The 29-year-old Munhoz is 2-2 with one no contest through five fights in the UFC, and he most recently submitted Russell Doane at UFC Fight Night 90 last month. That was his first win since May of 2014.
UFC Fight Night 95 is expected to air live on Fox Sports 1, and will be headlined by a 140 lb. catchweight bout between Cris “Cyborg” Justino and Lina Akhtar Lansberg.
