A lightweight bout between Ireland’s Joseph Duffy and Canada’s Mitch Clarke is heading to Las Vegas this July, with the UFC announcing on Thursday that the two will meet at UFC Fight Night 90 on July 7.
Duffy, who had been the last man to defeat Conor McGregor prior to Nate Diaz, came onto the UFC scene strong last year, taking out both Jake Lindsey and Ivan Jorge in the first round. The impressive start got him a fight with Dustin Poirier, but he got beat up a bit and lost a decision in that fight in January.
Clarke’s been out of action for over a year, going back to his loss to Michael Chiesa at UFC Fight Night 63 last April. Clarke is 2-3 in his UFC run thus far, those one of those wins was a highlight reel upset submission over Al Iaquinta in May 2014.
UFC Fight Night 90 airs live on UFC Fight Pass, headlined by the UFC Lightweight Championship bout between Rafael dos Anjos and Eddie Alvarez.
