With no athletic commission covering MMA in Australia, the UFC acted as the governing body for last weekend’s UFC Fight Night 85 event from Brisbane. That left their doctors responsible for handing down medical suspensions out of the event, and each of the night’s competitors was given at least seven days of rest following their fight. Beyond that, seven fighters are out of action up to six months pending doctor’s clearance, including headliner Frank Mir and co-main event loser Hector Lombard.
