Anderson Silva is indeed getting his wish to fight on the UFC 198 stadium card in Curitiba, with the organization this week confirming reports that he’ll meet Uriah Hall on the card.
Silva makes his quickest UFC turnaround between fights ever in the UFC, meeting hall less than three months after his five round fight with Michael Bisping in London. Silva dropped a decision in that fight despite nearly stopping Bisping on several occasions, and given the no contest in last year’s bout with Nick Diaz, he now hasn’t won a fight since October of 2012.
As for Hall, he dropped an unfortunate decision to Robert Whittaker in his last fight to halt the momentum from his upset win over Gegard Mousasi. The TUF 17 runner-up is 5-4 overall in the UFC, and he’s been inconsistent with decision losses and poor performances mixed in with several highlight-reel finishes.
UFC 198 takes place at the Arena de Baixada on May 14, headlined by the UFC Heavyweight Championship bout between Fabricio Werdum and Stipe Miocic.
