Frank Mir vs. Mark Hunt set to headline UFC Fight Night 84 in Brisbane this March

For the first time in a little over two years, the UFC is heading back to Brisbane, Australia, this March, and a heavyweight bout between Frank Mir and Mark Hunt has been tapped for the night’s main event.

The UFC confirmed the event and the headliner for the March 20 card on Thursday, with the card set for the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. It will serve as UFC Fight Night 84.

Mir, the former UFC Heavyweight Champion, was defeated by Andrei Arlovski by decision last September, snapping a two-fight winning streak that came after a run of four straight losses.

He hopes to get back on track against the New Zealand born Hunt, who fights for the third straight time in his current home country of Australia. Hunt headlined the last Brisbane event with his five round war against Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva, a fighter he knocked out in his most recent fight at UFC 193 last November.
