A planned fight between Jimi Manuwa and Nikita Krylov has been scrapped due to an injury to Manuwa, the UFC announced on Thursday.
The fight had been scheduled for the UFC Fight Night 83 event in Manuwa’s home city of London, England, which takes place on Feb. 27 on UFC Fight Pass.
It was an intriguing matchup, with Manuwa hoping to bounce back from losses in two of his last three fights while Krylov hoped to continue a three-fight winning streak in the light heavyweight field. The fight being scrapped means Krylov will be re-booked for a different event most likely, while it’s unclear how long Manuwa will be out.
The UFC Fight Night 83 card features a five round main event between Anderson Silva and Michael Bisping.
