The city of Albuquerque is celebrating one of their own this week, as the city council on Monday signed a proclamation to declare November “Holly Holm Month.”
A native of the ABQ, Holm’s thrilling head kick KO over Ronda Rousey has captured her hometown’s attention, and according to local news station KOB4, the city is planning to celebrate in style with a parade and ceremony at her leisure.
Another local news anchor posted a picture of the city council’s order:

Penick’s Analysis: This has to be a great week for Holm and all of her supporters in the city of Albuquerque. Understandably, few expected this out of Holm. Rousey seemed to be the unbeatable behemoth in the division, and for good reason it wasn’t believed that Holm was going to be able to pull off the upset. Proving all of those doubters wrong and doing her city proud with the performance that she had was excellent, and this type of honor is entirely deserved.
