In addition to the third fight between Ken Shamrock and Royce Gracie, nearly 21 years after their last meeting at UFC 5, Bellator’s Feb. 19 event from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, will feature a fight between Kimbo Slice and “DaDa 5000” Dhafir Harris.
Slice made his name in backyard street fighting videos in the mid 2000s, and at the time Harris was his bodyguard and an occasional participant as well. Slice went on to fame in MMA via EliteXC and later the UFC through The Ultimate Fighter. He then brought Bellator their biggest ratings ever with his headliner against Shamrock in June.
As for Harris, the 38-year-old has two pro MMA fights to his credit, having won both of them. However, the most recent came back in 2011.
Bellator’s Feb. 19 event will air live on Spike, and will be the organization’s first “tent pole” event of the year.
