The UFC is unsurprisingly putting two of their young, heavily hyped fighters on a card together, announcing on Monday that 19-year-old Sage Northcutt will fight at UFC Fight Night 80 in Las Vegas on Dec. 10.
That card will be headlined by 21-year-old women’s strawweight Paige VanZant, as she meets Joanne Calderwood in the main event on UFC Fight Pass.
Northcutt made his UFC debut earlier this month at UFC 192, taking out Francisco Trevino in quick fashion in the first round to move to 6-0 on his young career. All of his fights have happened within a year and a half of his debut, and he’s making another quick turnaround to face Cody Pfister on this card.
Pfister, 25, is 12-4 overall in his career, 1-1 inside the Octagon. After a submission loss to James Moontasri in his debut, he defeated Yosdenis Cedeno by decision in July.
UFC Fight Night 80 will be the first of three straight nights for the UFC in Las Vegas this December, and is their first from The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan. The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale follows in that same venue on Friday, Dec. 11, and the week culminates in UFC 194 on Dec. 12 on pay-per-view.
