In a conversation posted on Instagram, UFC President Dana White said that the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor fight did 6.5 million pay-per-view buys.

In the video, White was seen having a casual conversation with former UFC fighter Urijah Faber and iconic rapper Snoop Dogg. White seemed to casually mention that the fight did 6.5 million buys.

If that number is true, it will beat the all-time North American record of 4.6 million PPV buys. That PPV record is held by Mayweather vs. Pacquiao.

Conor McGregor says the third fight with Nate Diaz to fight should be at 155 lbs.

Conor McGregor believes that the rubber-match with Nate Diaz should happen at 155 lbs. During a post-fight interview with BBC News (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsoiejDEz4A), McGregor was asked about the trilogy fight with Nate Diaz. McGregor said the fight would have to be at Lightweight.

“I’m the 155-pound champion, I faced him at 170, he beat me, then I rematched him at 170, I beat him. Now I’m the 155-pound world champion. If he wants that fight, he must come down,” McGregor said. “That’s a fair trade. I didn’t ask for the rematch at a lower weight, I asked for the rematch at the exact same weight. I thought that was a fair play move on my half and then I came in and I won. So now I won that, then I won the 155-pound title after that. If he wants to fight, he’s got to make that 155-pound limit.”

Kim’s Analysis: Nate Diaz has fought 16 of his 24 UFC fights at Lightweight. Diaz’s last fight in the Lightweight division was in 2015 against Michael Johnson. Diaz won via unanimous decision.

Nate Diaz’s coach says Diaz needs to get paid at least $20 million for Conor McGregor trilogy

In a recent interview with Submission Radio (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gvFqHz5dMg) Nate Diaz’s boxing coach Richard Perez said that Diaz should make at least $20 or $30 million for a Conor McGregor trilogy fight. During the interview Perez was asked about the possible trilogy fight between McGregor and Diaz and the amount of money Diaz could make for the fight.

“At least $20 million, $30 million,” Perez said. “Come on. UFC’s making a whole lot of money, a whole lot of money and they’re pocketing it. They’re giving more to McGregor, so it’s not fair because it takes two in that ring to draw a crowd – I mean, a good two fighters. It’s just like Mayweather when he fought Berto. It was not even sold out at all. It was embarrassing. It’s because that guy couldn’t draw a crowd. See, that’s what I’m saying, it’s the fighters that draw the crowd, and Nathan and McGregor, third one would be outstanding. Everyone knows that. So he needs to get paid at least $30 million easy.”

Perez also talked about the two previous fights with McGregor saying that injuries affected Diaz’s performance in the second fight. “Second time he got injured so he had to lay back, so it put him back as far as being in shape and being accurate in timing,” Perez told Submission Radio. Given a full injury free training camp, Perez thinks Diaz would have no problem defeating McGregor in the rubber-match.

“If Nathan goes through training camp with no injuries, McGregor’s not gonna have a chance,” Perez said. “I’ll tell you that right now. If you watch some of the fights, like when Nathan fought (Donald) ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone and some other guys, he was in tip-top shape, he wasn’t injured or anything, he went out there and did it, he boxed them. And when he’s in tip-top shape, he can box.”

Kim’s Analysis: There has been speculation that the trilogy fight between Diaz and McGregor could be scheduled for UFC 219 in December.
