Undefeated featherweight Jeremy Kennedy moves up lightweight next month for his UFC debut, with the organization announcing that he’ll take on Josh Emmett in a lightweight bout at UFC on Fox 21 in Vancouver.
Kennedy enters the UFC for the first time with a perfect 8-0 record, having won each of those fights at 145 lbs. With five stoppage victories to his credit, he’ll try to make a splash on the August 27 event.
Standing in his way is the 10-0 Emmett, who returns for the first time since his successful UFC debut last May. In that bout, Emmett edged past Jon Tuck, his fifth career decision victory.
UFC on Fox 21 brings the UFC back to Vancouver for the first time since June of 2014. The event will be headlined by a welterweight contender bout between Carlos Condit and Demian Maia.
