By: Frank Hyden, MMATorch Senior Columnist

The Finals of the 2024 PFL Season were held this past weekend at PFL 10. Who won the Championships and the million dollar prize? Let’s get to the rundown.

PFL 10
GOOD- Denis Goltsov submits Oleg Popov
This was for the 2024 PFL Heavyweight Championship. Goltsov starts off
with a lot of jabs before Popov answers back with a left hook followed
by a takedown. They reach a stalemate for a while before Goltsov
starts going for a bunch of different submissions. Popov fights them off for a while until Goltsov locks in a tight triangle choke that puts Popov to sleep and the fight is over not quite three minutes into
the first round.
Goltsov improves to 36-8 and has won 4 straight fights while Popov drops to 19-2 and has his 17 fight winning streak snapped. Good win for Goltsov.
Denis Goltsov is your 2024 PFL Heavyweight Champion. Congratulations to him.

GOOD- Gadzhi Rabadanov stops Brent Primus
This was for the 2024 PFL Lightweight Championship. They start off trading strikes, with Rabadanov favoring kicks while Primus goes with
punches. Rabadanov gets a takedown and Primus begins to try for various submissions. They spend the rest of the first round grappling,
with Primus going for submissions and slashing with some elbows while
Rabadanov defends. The second round begins with more Rabadanov leg
kicks that Primus tries to counter with punches. This continues until Rabadanov drops Primus with a powerful combination. Rabadanov gets on
top and they spend the rest of the second round grappling. The third
round starts with more striking exchanges. A big right hand from
Rabadanov drops Primus but Rabadanov lets him up. Primus comes forward
and Rabadanov blasts him with a big left hook followed by an equally big right hand that drops Primus and this fight is over. However,
Rabadanov smashes Primus with an unnecessary big right hand before the
referee can stop the fight halfway through the third round.
Rabadanov improves to 24-4-2 and has won 10 straight fights while
Primus drops to 15-4 with 1 No Contest and has his 3 fight winning streak snapped. Good win for Rabadanov.
Gadzhi Rabadanov is your 2024 PFL Lightweight Champion. Congratulations to him.

GOOD- Shamil Musaev stops Magomed Umalatov
This was for the 2024 PFL Welterweight Championship. Nothing happens
in the first round except for some piddling low kicks before they have a few striking exchanges before the first round ends. The second round
begins with more tentativeness before Umalatov lands a few hooks. They
exchange strikes for a while until Musaev reverses a takedown attempt
into one of his own. Musaev gets a takedown for a moment but Umalatov
is quickly back up and they trade a few more strikes before the second
round ends. The third round starts with more inaction until they
finally start trading strikes. Musaev finally nails Umalatov with a big left hand and follows up with another huge left hand that drops
Umalatov. Musaev pounces on him with right hands that force the referee to jump in to stop the fight a bit before two minutes into the third round.
Musaev improves to 18-0-1 and remains undefeated while Umalatov drops
to 17-1 and is handed his first loss. Good win for Musaev.
Shamil Musaev is your 2024 PFL Welterweight Champion. Congratulations to him.

GOOD- Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov stops Impa Kasanganay
This was for the 2024 PFL Light Heavyweight Championship.
Yagshimuradov opens with a leg kick while Kasanganay fires back with
some hooks. They start brawling and Yagshimuradov smashes Kasanganay
with punches that drop Kasanganay and force the referee to stop the
fight not quite a minute into the first round.
Yagshimuradov improves to 25-7-1 and has won 7 straight fights while
Kasanganay drops to 18-5 and has his 3 fight winning streak snapped.
Good win for Yagshimuradov.
Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov is your 2024 PFL Light Heavyweight Champion.
Congratulations to him.

GOOD- Dakota Ditcheva stops Taila Santos
This was for the 2024 PFL Flyweight Championship. They’re trading jabs
early, with Ditcheva landing some good leg kicks as well. Santos
fights for a takedown but Ditcheva reverses and gets Santos down.
Ditcheva lets her up, though. They return to trading strikes for the rest of the first round. The second round begins with more striking
exchanges and both women are landing well. Ditcheva keeps attacking
the body and this pays off as she crushes Santos with a knee to the liver followed by some big punches to the body that bend Santos over
and force the referee to stop the fight a bit over four and a half
minutes into the second round.
Ditcheva improves to a perfect 14-0 while Santos drops to 22-4 and has
her 3 fight winning streak snapped. Good win for Ditcheva.
Dakota Ditcheva is your 2024 PFL Flyweight Champion. Congratulations to her.

GOOD- Timur Khizriev vs. Brendan Loughnane
This was for the 2024 PFL Featherweight Championship. Khizriev starts
off with kicks before mixing in some punches as well. Loughnane fires
back with some strikes of his own but Khizriev gets a takedown.
Khizriev starts working his ground-and-pound and does some good damage
before the first round ends. The second round begins with more
striking exchanges. Khizriev hurts Loughnane with an uppercut but he
doesn’t follow up. Khizriev uses his speed to attack and bloody
Loughnane and his face is getting messy quickly before the second
round ends. The third round starts with Khizriev continuing to attack
Loughnane’s face and he’s bleeding heavily now. Loughnane won’t stop,
though, and he keeps coming forward. Khizriev gets a takedown but Loughnane works his way back to his feet eventually and the third
round ends.
The fourth round opens with Khizriev landing some good strikes that allow him to get a takedown. Loughnane is back to his feet again and
they return to striking. Loughnane’s face is again bleeding heavily
but he won’t stop and he lands some good strikes before the fourth
round ends. The fifth round begins with both fighters throwing and landing heavy strikes. With a million dollars on the line neither man is going to quit. Khizriev gets a takedown but Loughnane desperately
powers to his feet. Khizriev runs away, as he’s content to win the
decision and the prizes. The fight ends so we go to the judges to
render their verdict.
Khizriev wins the decision to improve to a perfect 18-0 while
Loughnane drops to 30-6 and has his 3 fight winning streak snapped.
Good win for Khizriev.
Timur Khizriev is your 2024 PFL Featherweight Champion. Congratulations to him.

2018 and 2023 PFL Welterweight Champion Magomed Magomedkerimov (35-6)
has reportedly asked for his release from PFL so that he can join the UFC. There appears to be a number of fighters who aren’t happy with
the lengths of their layoffs in between fights and wish to go
elsewhere.
As I write this, there’s no word on Magomedkerimov or anyone else’s requests being honored but that could change in the near future.

My new epic fantasy book is out. It’s called Kingdom of Zarias: The End’s
Beginning
. The exciting epic fantasy series Kingdom of Zarias returns with the 4th book in the series. After the harrowing events of
Book 3 the residents of the Kingdom of Zarias continue on their paths.
Serena Summers continues to learn and grow as a fighter, desperately
seeking to become stronger before she loses anyone else in her life.
Daniel Summers discovers new parts of the world that open his eyes to
just how little he truly knows. A new hero, Lamar Abeers, arrives to
join the fight against evil. Plus, Zach Summers, Tiana Highsmith, and Xavien Ekens continue their journeys with their friends, and a new
ruler of Vhaharen is crowned. The world has found a little peace.
However, that peace is only temporary. In a shocking act of violence,
the monstrous villain Galren strikes from the shadows and changes the
world forever. This is Book 4 in the series. There’s lots of action,
magic, and monsters in the Kingdom of Zarias. It’s like a tabletop
game in novel form. It’s on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and many other places. If you’re interested, I would greatly appreciate it if you would check it out and support me. Also, here’s the link to my Compendium book about the Kingdom of Zarias series- KoZ Compendium Thank you
