While it may not come as a huge surprise it sure will be a relief to some. Former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans announced his retirement from MMA.
Rashad announced his plans to retire on ESPN’s Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show.

Evans is coming off of his 5th consecutive loss after getting quickly knocked out by Anthony Smith at UFC 225. Evans last victory came opposite Chael Sonnen in November 2013.
Evans leaves MMA with a 19-8-1 record, including a 14-8-1 record in the UFC.
Among his career accolades, Evans won the UFC light heavyweight title from Forrest Griffin at UFC 92 in December 2008. Evans was also the heavyweight winner “The Ultimate Fighter 2.”
I hadn’t realized he hadn’t won a fight in 5 years.
