-After two weeks of speculation and analysis, the interim welterweight title fight between Colby Covington and former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos is scheduled for UFC 224 on May 12 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Multiple media outlets confirmed the news, that was initially reported by BJPenn.com
Current undisputed champion Tyron Woodley fought three times since capturing the title at UFC 199 in June of 2016. However, Woodley suffered a shoulder injury, that required surgery at UFC 214 in July 2017.
-Since pulling out of UFC 223 due to an unusual LCL injury, Tony Ferguson has received social media criticism from rivals within the lightweight division. Conor McGregor tweeted a NSFW jab at both Ferguson and once-scheduled opponent Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Nate Diaz offered his own commentary:
Lol these guys can't even make it to war..
