With Manny Pacquiao revealing that he has reached out to Conor McGregor about a potential boxing match. Is it inevitable that McGregor’s next fight will occur in a boxing ring?

I think it is. That’s been my thinking since before he fought Floyd Mayweather, there’s just too much money at stake. Unless the UFC loosens the purse strings and pay McGregor as much or more than boxing will; why should he return? Even if McGregor boxes twice more and loses both times, he could still return to the UFC at that point and make the same amount of money they’re probably offering him now. I think McGregor is going to chase that money and I can’t blame him one bit.

I’m not sure if Conor McGregor competes in another mixed martial arts fight again. As a mixed martial arts fan I would love to see it, however, I could never begrudge someone for making 10 to 100 times the money for a lot less work. There are some huge money matches for McGregor in boxing. MMA takes a toll on your entire body that boxing just doesn’t. After the Floyd Mayweather bout, Conor McGregor never needs to take another fight again in his life. Conor McGregor can ride off into the sunset tomorrow and live happily ever after on “Dancing with the Stars” and be just fine.

The more time that goes by it seems less likely that we’ll see Conor in the octagon in 2018. There’s so many big money temptations popping up for Conor in boxing that it will be hard for him to pass them up. The only outstanding factor would be his contract with the UFC. Dana White seems pretty determined to keep Conor fighting in the MMA world.

Right now, Conor McGregor is becoming a joke and should go ahead and stick to boxing. Since he seems to only be chasing the dollar and not necessarily attempting to solidify his position in the UFC; he should concentrate on trying to get the Manny Pacquiao fight. He will continue to box until people get tired of dropping the money to see him fight.
