Now, here’s a fight. You have MacDonald defending the Bellator Welterweight Title against the man he beat in January 2018 to win the belt in the finals of the Bellator Welterweight Grand Prix. That was a decision win for MacDonald and I think that we get a repeat here. Lima has only been finished twice but lost five decisions, so I’m leaning towards another decision loss for him. Both guys are super tough and hard to stop, but I think MacDonald does a bit more and gets the nod from the judges.

I gotta go with Lima here. Douglas Lima has all of the momentum and the last time we heard from Rory he said his heart wasn’t in it. The last time we saw Lima he slept Michael Venom Page. This is it for Rory MacDonald, he will lose here and fade away into obscurity, which is his wish. Lima wants that belt back more than Rory wants to keep it.

I think Rory MacDonald answered the questions about his motivation to keep fighting after the Gegard Mousasi loss and Jon Fitch draw with his win over Neiman Gracie this past June. MacDonald has a prior win over Douglas Lima, who has looked good in this tournament. That said, I still think MacDonald will be able to take a decision win to hold onto his Bellator welterweight title.
