Who wins the Ilir Latifi vs. Tyson Pedro fight, and why?
RICK MONSEY, MMATorch Contributor
Ilir Latifi is trying to rebound from a devastating knockout loss courtesy of Ryan Bader. The problem is Tyson Pedro is a finisher as well. In fact, none of Pedro’s fights have gone to a decision. That will most likely be the case in this fight as Latifi will be finished by Pedro. However, Latifi has knockout power of his own and if Pedro comes in over confident he could suffer his first loss.

In the fight game, age is a significant factor. Pedro is much younger than Latifi and at the beginning of his career. That will be the story here. Pedro is faster, stronger and more resilient than his opponent. Latifi will prove to be a suitable match, but youth will win out in the end. I’m going with Pedro via knockout.

Tyson Pedro via submission. Latifi has legitimate knockout power. Pedro wants to avoid that and will look to grapple with Latifi. Latifi will tire out and Pedro will choke him out.

I think Latifi stops Pedro in the first round. Pedro could get the first round submission, but I think Latifi has the power to stop things early before Pedro can get the fight to the ground. If the fight doesn’t get finished in the first round, I think it slows way down and we get a plodding decision win for Latifi. I hope that doesn’t happen, but there’s always the chance it does.
