Dana White announced today on Cleveland radio that Donald Cerrone vs. Robbie Lawler confirmed for UFC 205 in New York City.

Hiscoe’s Analysis: This is the definition of a fan-friendly fight. Neither Cerrone or Lawler seem to be capable of having a bad fight so this should make for a great main card fight for the MSG debut. On top of the entertainment value it’s likely to bring, this fight carries a lot of divisional relevance. A win by Cerrone proves that he belongs with the elite at 170 pounds and a win for Lawler will show that he isn’t done after being knocked out by Tyron Woodley. The top of the welterweight division is getting crowded with Stephen Thompson and Demian Maia both jockeying for a title fight and with the prospect of GSP returning also looming overhead. A win by either Cerrone or Lawler will put them in that mix but an immediate title shot is far from certain.
