A welterweight bout between Randy Brown and Erick Montano is the latest addition to September’s UFC Fight Night 94 event in Hidalgo, Texas, the organization announced on Wednesday.
Brown makes his third appearance in the Octagon after getting his shot from Dana White’s internet program “Looking For a Fight.” The 26-year-old “Rude Boy” made a successful debut with a decision win over Matt Dwyer in January before suffering his first career loss in an April submission defeat at the hands of Michael Graves.
The 7-3 Montano won “The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America 2” in November when he edged past Enrique Marin by split decision at UFC Fight Night 78, and returns for the first time since that bout. He’s won five of his last six bouts overall, and that UFC debut was his first fight to ever reach the judges scorecards.
UFC Fight Night 94 in Texas airs live on Fox Sports 1 on Sept. 17, and will be headlined by a five round lightweight bout between the returning Michael Johnson and the surging Dustin Poirier.
