The Nevada Athletic Commission handed out medical suspensions to several fighters from over the weekend, including most on Thursday’s UFC Fight Night 90 card. Alan Jouban’s post-fight belief that he had broken his hand was correct, and he’ll be out up to six months pending early clearance. Prelim fighter Reginaldo Vieira is also out until January of 2017 pending clearance for orbital and nasal fractures suffered on the card.
The full list of medical suspensions, as emailed to MMATorch this week, are below:
-Rafael dos Anjos: suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days
-Derrick Lewis: suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days
-Roy Nelson: suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days
-Alan Jouban: fractured left hand must be cleared by orthopedic doctor or suspended 185 days, minimum suspension and no contact for 30 days
-Belal Muhammad: suspended 60 days with no contact for 45 days
-Mitch Clarke: right knee must be cleared by orthopedic doctor or suspended 185 days
-Mike Pyle: suspended 60 days with no contact for 45 days
-John Makdessi: suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days for left eye laceration
-Anthony Birchak: suspended 60 days with no contact for 45 days
-Dileno Lopes: suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days
-Pedro Munoz: suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days for small cut on top of head
-Russell Doane: right foot must receive X-ray due to potential fracture, minimum suspension 30 days with no contact for 21 days
-Lukasz Sajewski: suspended 60 days with no contact for 45 days
-Reginaldo Vieira: right orbital and nasal fracture must be cleared by ear, nose and throat doctor or suspended 185 days, minimum suspension 60 days with no contact for 45 days
-Marco Beltran: left knee must receive X-ray due to potential fracture, also needs dental clearance for three loose front teeth.
-Alvaro Herrera: suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days (right bicep pain)
