16-fight MMA vet Blas Avena was found dead in his Las Vegas home last week, and according to a report from TMZ Las Vegas police are investigating his death as a suicide.
A Las Vegas police spokesman gave the following simple statement: “Arriving police and medical personnel located an adult male who was pronounced deceased at the scene. As of now, the death is being investigated as a suicide.
Avena fought professionally from 2005 until 2013, appearing six times under the WEC banner and twice in Bellator MMA. His last fight came against War Machine at Bellator 96 in June of 2013.
