Conor McGregor responded to several fans on Twitter this afternoon, and in addition to hyping his drawing prowess, he also touched on his loss to Nate Diaz, why he thinks the eventual rematch will be different, and defending his Featherweight Title later in the year.
I love it! Adapt and overcome.
I am coming in light and lean for my rematch and I will school this boy to the bell. https://t.co/MjEwxokIYK— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) May 2, 2016
No. Last time I was eating four breakfasts and a dessert on the day of weigh in.
You will see.
You will all see. https://t.co/zfhFLEqEcA— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) May 2, 2016
On the floor he was swept and controlled.
When the tank goes, no amount of skill can save you.

I respect the endurance athlete. A game of will.
But those who simply take part, will always be taken over. https://t.co/bysnazDaAT— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) May 2, 2016
I do not. I had the May/Pac record primed, ready to place MMA at the undisputed top. But it was not to be. #Press https://t.co/rmCxw6DX7y

He has made more excuses for the first 8 minutes of our fight than I have made for the last 2 minutes of our fight. https://t.co/pukpqnF1YJ

I look forward to my end of year unification bout. But like I said before.
These featherweights don’t understand… https://t.co/LzHsGsQP75— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) May 2, 2016
Penick’s Analysis: McGregor honestly believes whatever factors led to him losing that fight with Diaz are correctable in a full camp into a rematch, and they might be. Whether he still gets the opportunity to prove that is what remains to be seen. If the UFC just re-books that fight for one of the other cards coming up this summer, they’ve got another huge pay-per-view draw on the docket. If they make him wait for the Aldo-Edgar winner following the UFC 200 spat, then it’s all for naught.
