Conor McGregor was going to be following Ronda Rousey’s lead into Hollywood this year, signing on for a role in Vin Diesel’s new XXX sequel, but according to a report from ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, that’s no longer going to happen.
As I mentioned on @SportsCenter, I’m told McGregor has canceled his planned appearance in Vin Diesel’s XXX film. Doesn’t want distraction.

McGregor suffered the first loss of his UFC run earlier this month, getting submitted by late notice opponent Nate Diaz at UFC 196. That fight is reportedly in the works for a rematch at UFC 200.
Penick’s Analysis: This is the opposite response to a loss from Rousey. Whereas she embraced her roles outside of the cage and has ramped up what she’s doing on that end this spring, McGregor is turning his focus back to training after a failure in the cage. That’s an important distinction, and it’s a good sign for McGregor’s return at UFC 200. Now, the Diaz rematch – while it might make the UFC all of the money – is a highly risky endeavor, because a second straight loss without him defending the Featherweight Title is a detriment to that division entirely, and to McGregor’s future earnings.
