UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm received a massive homecoming on Sunday in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with over 20,000 fans turning out for a celebration parade after her stunning victory over Ronda Rousey at UFC 193 last month.
The day was dubbed “Holly Holm Day” by New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez, and the emotional Holm thanked everyone for their support. Check out a shot from Holm’s instagram, along with video from the day, below:
Penick’s Analysis: Great turnout for Holm, and it’s great to see that she’s garnering a significant fanbase off that win. It’s sure to continue to build, which will make the rematch all the bigger when she’s got that type of support herself. Whether she fights Rousey next, or can put on a successful title defense against someone else, she’s done something incredible, and is getting the deserved attention because of that.
