Ronda Rousey isn’t the first star fighter to fall in shocking fashion, and she’s now getting some support from a fighter who recently went through the same thing: Anderson Silva.

“The Spider” posted a comment to Instagram on Sunday offering Rousey words of encouragement and understanding for what she’s currently going through, given his 2013 defeats at the hands of Chris Weidman.

RONDA ROUSEY Our biggest glory doesnt lives in the fact of never fall down, But In the fact of we always stand up after each fall. With determination, You will over come this bad time. Penick’s Analysis: Rousey’s fall came swiftly, but a comeback isn’t out of the question. This sport is not conducive to undefeated records, and there’s never been a fighter who hasn’t suffered a setback at some point in their career. It’s how Rousey responds to this loss and comes back that’s important now. She’s absolutely capable of getting that title back. She’s lost the aura she once had, she’s been proven not to be invincible, and she’ll have to show that she can respond to that type of adversity to get back on top. We’ve seen fighters do it before. We’ve seen others falter and never recover. We’ll find out what part of the spectrum she falls on come next July.
