The Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission has released the list of medical suspensions for Saturday’s UFC 201 event, with only one fighter receiving longer than a 45-day layoff. That came to Ryan Benoit, who will be out up to six months pending doctor’s clearance.
While the length of suspensions were revealed, no reasoning behind their determination was given.
Former UFC Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler is out up to 45 days after his knockout loss to Tyron Woodley, a time shared by others who were finished on the card like Matt Brown and Ed Herman. The full list of suspensions is below (via MMAJunkie.com):
- Robbie Lawler: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days.
- Karolina Kowalkiewicz: Suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days.
- Matt Brown: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days.
- Erik Perez: Suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days.
- Francisco Rivera: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days.
- Ryan Benoit: Suspended 180 days unless cleared earlier by doctor.
- Fredy Serrano: Suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days.
- Ed Herman: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days.
- Ross Pearson: Suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days.
- Damian Grabowski: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days.
- Michael Graves: Suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days.
- Bojan Velickovic: Suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days.
- Cesar Arzamendia: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days.
