UFC Fight Night: Lopes vs. Silva was this past weekend and featured some exciting fights and finishes. Who won and who lost? Let’s get to the rundown.
UFC Fight Night: Lopes vs. Silva
GOOD- Santiago Luna drops Le Quang
Le drops Luna right away with a punch then wobbles him with a head
kick when he gets up. Luna clinches to try to get his bearings back
and now Luna drops Le with a left hook and they’re swinging for the
fences. Luna drops Le again and pounds him out until the referee jumps
in to stop the fight not quite three minutes into the first round.
Luna improves to a perfect 7-0 while Le drops to 9-3. Good win for Luna.
GOOD- Alexander Hernandez stops Diego Ferreira
They trade strikes throughout a close first round. The second round
begins with more of the same, as both men are fighting evenly.
Suddenly, Hernandez drops Ferreira with a big right hand and unleashes ground-and-pound until the referee finally jumps in to stop the fight.
That’s a late stoppage, he should have jumped in much sooner. Ferreira
had a big egg on the side of his forehead after the fight.
Hernandez improves to 18-8 and has won 4 straight fights while Ferreira drops to 19-7. Good win for Hernandez.
GOOD- Kelvin Gastelum vs. Dustin Stoltzfus
They trade strikes throughout the first round until Stoltzfus gets a
takedown and ends the first round with a good kick to the body. The second round begins with more striking exchanges, including some heavy
strikes by Gastelum. Stoltzfus tries for a takedown but can’t get it
and soon gets knocked down by Gastelum. They grapple for a moment
before standing and trading shortly before the second round ends. The
third round starts with some nice striking exchanges. Stoltzfus can’t
get a takedown and Gastelum takes advantage by mixing up his strikes.
The fight ends so we go to the judges to render their verdict.
Gastelum wins the decision to improve to 20-10 with 1 No Contest while
Stoltzfus drops to 16-8. Good win for Gastelum.
GOOD- Rafa Garcia stops Jared Gordon
Garcia’s landing some hard leg kicks early. Gordon gets dropped but is
immediately back to his feet. Gordon fires back with some strong strikes but Garcia answers with a takedown to end the first round. The
second round begins with Garcia staggering Gordon before Garcia takes
the fight to the ground. Gordon works his way back to his feet and they exchange strikes for the rest of the second round. The third
round starts with Garcia tearing into Gordon with powerful strikes.
Gordon gets dropped so Garcia jumps on him to try for the submission
but gives up and starts battering Gordon with elbows until the referee
finally jumps in to stop the fight halfway through the third round.
Garcia improves to 17-4 while Gordon drops to 21-8 with 1 No Contest.
Good win for Garcia.
GOOD- Ron Font vs. David Martinez
They trade strikes throughout the first round, with Martinez landing
more. The second round begins with Font having more success and
landing some good strikes. The third round starts with the momentum swinging back to Martinez and he drops Font and pounds on him but the
fight ends. We go to the judges to render their verdict.
Martinez wins the decision to improve to 13-1 and has won 9 straight fights while Font drops to 22-9. Good win for Martinez.
GOOD- Diego Lopes stops Jean Silva
They’re trading kicks early and often to start the fight. Lopes gets a
takedown and starts advancing position. Lopes drops elbows and punches
until Silva fights back to his feet somehow. They trade more kicks
until the first round ends. The second round begins with Silva showing
great toughness to not just survive but he’s on the offensive now and
nailing Lopes with some heavy strikes. This continues until Lopes is able to get a takedown to stem the tide. They scramble and get back to
their feet and are throwing everything they’ve got at each other. A
spinning elbow from Lopes drops Silva and he pounds on him until the
referee jumps into the stop with twelve seconds left in the second round. Wow. This was a hell of a fight. Silva takes a cheap shot at
Lopes after the fight. We’ll see if anything happens to him as a result of this.
Lopes improves to 27-7 while Silva drops to 16-3 and has his 13 fight
winning streak snapped. Good win for Lopes.
*************
No one deserves to be killed for expressing their opinions and trying
to debate people. I generally try to avoid politics but this is so much more than that. There were people celebrating this. That’s pure
evil. I don’t care what side of the issue you’re on, we should all be able to agree that assassinating people is wrong.
My new epic fantasy book is out. It’s called Kingdom of Zarias: The End’s
Beginning. The exciting epic fantasy series Kingdom of Zarias
returns with the 4th book in the series. After the harrowing events of
Book 3 the residents of the Kingdom of Zarias continue on their paths.
Serena Summers continues to learn and grow as a fighter, desperately
seeking to become stronger before she loses anyone else in her life.
Daniel Summers discovers new parts of the world that open his eyes to
just how little he truly knows. A new hero, Lamar Abeers, arrives to
join the fight against evil. Plus, Zach Summers, Tiana Highsmith, and
Xavien Ekens continue their journeys with their friends, and a new ruler of Vhaharen is crowned. The world has found a little peace.
However, that peace is only temporary. In a shocking act of violence,
the monstrous villain Galren strikes from the shadows and changes the
world forever. This is Book 4 in the series. There’s lots of action,
magic, and monsters in the Kingdom of Zarias. It’s like a tabletop
game in novel form. It’s on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and many other
places. If you’re interested, I would greatly appreciate it if youwould check it out and support me.Thank you very much, have a good
day.
