The UFC and Conor McGregor have come to terms on an eight-fight deal.
As first reported by Darren Rovell of ESPN, the details of the deal were not disclosed, but will include sponsorship opportunity for McGregor’s whiskey line, Proper Whiskey.
Proper Whiskey will have a presence at every card that McGregor is a part of.
UFC president told ESPN that deal could be very lucrative for McGregor given his massive appeal on pay-per-view.
McGregor has not fought for the UFC since becoming their first ever dual-champion at UFC 205, in November 2016.
In the ensuing time, McGregor competed in a highly lucrative boxing bout with Floyd Mayweather in Aug. of 2017; and in April of this year, McGregor was arrested in Brooklyn for assaulting a bus caring several UFC fighters and personal, including lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
A plea deal was recently reached that kept McGregor from serving a jail sentence.
McGregor will make his return to MMA at UFC 229 on October 8, when he challenges Nurmagomedov for the lightweight title.
According to the ESPN report, UFC 229 will be McGregor’s first fight on his new deal.
