Bellator 199 will take place on Saturday May 12, emanating from San Jose, California, airing on the Paramount Network. Before the event, Dylan Bowker spoke to Carrington Banks and Javy Ayala.
Carrington Banks
Carrington Banks is unbeaten so far in his Bellator run and his overall pro career. Carrington takes on Adam Piccolotti at Bellator 199 on Saturday, May 12th. “Jetsetter” has been taking the Lightweight division by storm as he adds good striking chops to his impressive wrestling base. The Iowa product is looking to get an impressive W here so his next bout can have title shot/ top contendership implications. Carrington looks to keep his 11-fight streak alive, turn that record to 12-0, and further raise his stock at 155lbs.
Javy Ayala
Javy Ayala has been a staple of Bellator for multiple fights but just now seems to be getting that spotlight on him. Javy faces Cheick Kongo on May 12th for Bellator 199 and it’s a key Heavyweight fight. With the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix attracting so much attention, the Ayala-Kongo winner could potentially hop into the Grand Prix in the event of someone getting injured. Javy has been fighting big name competition as of late including Roy Nelson and Sergei Kharitonov, who Ayala knocked out in 16 seconds. Javy goes by the nickname “Eye Candy” but his eyes are surely on the prize in securing a W over tenured former UFC veteran Cheick Kongo this Saturday.
